The Círculo del Liceo hosted the Lunch-Colloquium «Multicapitalism: The new post-covid economy», with Juan Costa Climent, former Minister of Science and Technology and current Head of Climate Change and Sustainability at Ernst & Young.
Costa talked about the current concept of economic progress, which cannot be measured only in monetary or mere production terms without taking into account the environment in which it occurs or the externalities of this economic activity. Measuring progress should include topics such as social justice, ecological balance, health status, the contribution of culture, or the added value of information technologies.
Juan Costa Climent has a Law Degree from the University of Navarra. He has developed his political career in various positions: Spokesman in the Finance and Finance Commission of Congress, Secretary of State for Finance, Secretary of State for Commerce and Tourism and finally, Minister of Science and Technology. In 2010, he resigned his seat in Congress and left politics to join Ernst & Young consulting.
